Альбом представляет собой дебютный проект группы "Dudubeat" из Санкт-Петебурга. Его участников, Карена Саргсяна (дудук) и Арсена Григоряна (клавишные) сплотила любовь к традиционным мелодиям Армении и желание придать им более современные формы при полном сохранении национального колорита. Высокая техника исполнения Карена и строгое следование классической манере игры на дудуке создает именно то глубокое и нежное звучание, которое прославило этот инструмент во всем мире. Прекрасным обрамлением печально-трогательным звукам дудука служат электронные ритмы, в сочетании с которыми он получает еще большую выразительность. Этот интересный сплав живого звука и электроники, в котором они удачно сочетаются и взаимно дополняют друг друга, создан композитором и аранжировщиком Арсеном. При ровном звучании в целом альбом полон разнообразных оттенков настроения, что делает его хорошим подарком любителям фоновой музыки. Выступая в различных клубах Санкт-Петербурга, группа "Dudubeat" всегда встречает теплый прием со стороны слушателей, которые, благодаря наличию в музыке drum-n-bass интонаций, могут не только приятно побеседовать, но и потанцевать.

The fifth full-length Nettwerk release from Vancouver-based duo Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber, Nuages Du Monde (Clouds of the World) continues the evolution of Delerium from creators of predominantly instrumental filmic soundscapes to a fully-fledged vocal group. Featuring an array of renowned singers, Nuages Du Monde neatly combines the more overtly commercial pop of previous album Chimera (2003) with the lush sensual ambience and cloistered harmonies of 1997’s Karma, a meld that bridges the gap between world music, new age electronics and modern classical.

The album features a number of collaborators new to Delerium, including the accomplished Juno award-winning Punjabi singer Koran Ahluwalia, who dominates one of the more dancefloor friendly album cuts, the heady Bollywood meets 4/4 beats of "Indoctrination." Meanwhile, Isabel Bayrakdarian is a highly esteemed Armenian-Canadian soprano with a wonderfully expressive voice, who recently opened gala night at the New York Metropolitan Opera opposite Bryn Terfel in Mozart’s Marriage Of Figaro and proved a huge hit in the same role at London’s Royal Opera House. Her acclaimed collection of Armenian liturgical songs, 'Joyous Light', pricked the ears of composer Howard Shore and led to a personal invitation to contribute to his multi-million selling ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers’ soundtrack. Baryakdarian, whose wordless, almost muezzin wail adds dramatic tension to album opener "Angelicus" and the darker tones of "Lumenis," is a singer searching for something very personal in her music. “What I’m most interested in is beautiful singing… something that speaks to me,” she says “That’s my main guideline to everything that I sing, whether it’s opera, recital or concert” – a sentiment you can be sure that Messrs Leeb and Fulber agree with wholeheartedly.

The album also features contribution from a host of Delerium regulars; Faithless vocalist Zoe Johnston, Kristy Thirsk (a stalwart since their 1995 Nettwerk debut Semantic Spaces), and sessions virtuoso Kristy Hawkshaw, whose CV is a veritable who’s who of electronic music, including Orbital, BT and Tiesto.

However, fans of Delerium’s more cinematic moments will not be disappointed by the grandiose "Tectonic Shift," a slow-building storm cloud of an instrumental, augmented by sweeping John Barry-esque strings courtesy of arranger Chris Elliott (Moulin Rouge, Rufus Wainwright), whilst the haunted "Apparition" provides Nuages Du Monde with a suitably elegiac conclusion. On the other side of the coin, the Jaël fronted "Lost And Found" is a radio friendly vignette of lazily seductive pop that taps a more commercial vein, while English vocal group Mediæval Bæbes add a dose of religiosity and sophistication to "Extollere" and the pretty "Sister Sojourn Ghost."

Nuages Du Monde proves another notable milestone on the ever-metamorphosing musical landscape of Leeb and Fulber.

Previous Delerium recordings for Nettwerk have included Semantic Spaces (1995), breakthrough album Karma (1997), Poem (2001) and Chimera (2005). The band have sold over a million albums in North America alone, but are also known for a string of successful singles, including the worldwide dance smash Silence (featuring the vocals talents of superstar Sarah McLachlan), which sold over 300,000 copies in the UK alone. Other hits have included After All, Innocente, Falling In Love), Underwater and Heaven’s Earth.

Leeb and Fulber have a number of other highly regarded musical collaborations under their belt, most notably the influential industrial act Front Line Assembly, while Fulber has found solo success as a producer and more recently with his celebrated ethno-ambient pop project Conjure One.

Runestone - Mysteries 1995

Runestone is an English duo comprising composer/musicians Chris Green and Robert Fenner. Both play a variety of instruments but are best known for keyboard and guitar. Their music takes its inspiration from their joint fascination with the power of ancestral sites: stone circles, earth works, dolmens and hallowed places where the lines between knowledge, understanding and faith have become blurred by time. The music of Runestone seeks to capture and portray some of the primal atmospheres that are always present in these sacred places.

Runestone’s music has been variously described as ethereal, richly atmospheric, mysterious, soothing and dreamlike. The acclaimed International Guide to New Age Music (by Henk N Werkoven) describes Runestone’s music as “musical archaeological digs behind the mysterious veils of a magical and mysterious past”.

Chill out...как много может впитать в себя эта музыка, окончательно я в этом убедился после того как услышал последнее творение проекта Ten Madison. Скрывающийся под этим лейблом добрый дядя Peter Jurgens, выпустил очередной, не побоюсь этого слова, шедевр электронной музыки. Предыдущая пластинка "Avenue" уже наделала шуму среди прогрессивного человечества, и вот на наш суд предстала еще одна вещь.

Музыку альбома From Lust To Dust можно сравнить с Энигмой, Армстронгом и латинскими напевами в одном флаконе. Peter Jurgens эксперементирует с различными стилями и выходит это у него просто превосходно. От легкой drum-машины в начале, треки плавно переходят в deep house и trance. Музыка льется из ваших колонок, наполняя окружающее пространство, принося чувство успокоения...и диск хочется слушать снова и снова. Очень запоминаются моменты, где Dj использует аля испанские мотивы в вперемешку с deep house - и получаются довольно драйвовые вещицы (One Day On Ibizah), или в стиле той же Энигмы, которые грамотно приправлены трансом (Avalar, Sun, From Lust To Dust). Вообще весь альбом - словно глоток свежего воздуха! Главное включить погромче и наслаждаться басами, самой мелодией и превосходным качеством звука, особенно это приятно в теплый весенний или летний вечер, сидя вдвоем и наблюдая за облаками... Не понравится такое не может, и каждому уважающему себя меломану я бы посоветовал пополнить свою фонотеку этим диском проекта Ten Madison. ~Danil, modno.org

Робин Гатри - один из основателей беззаветно у нас любимых Cocteau Twins, Гарольд Бадд - известный в узких кругах автор леденящих кровь эмбиентных альбомов о пустых комнатах и сером свете. Их совместная работа, саундтрек к новому фильму Грегга Араки, получилась вполне предсказуемой. Многослойная и затягивающая синтезаторная муть Бадда скрашивается бездонно-загадочными гитарными соло Гатри, которые никто так и не сумел сымитировать. Это определенно не тот альбом, который шокирует с первого звука, но те, кто решит уделить ему немного внимания - хотя бы из уважения к несомненным заслугам создателей, - не прогадают. С каждым новым прослушиванием музыка кажется все изысканней и элегантней, а там и вовсе оказывается лишенной недостатков. (salonav.com)

Gabrielle Roth is a noted artist, philosopher and healer. She has devoted her life to exploring and communicating the language of primal movement and experimental theater. Over the past 35 years, Gabrielle has taken thousands of people on a journey from physical and emotional inertia to the freedome of ecstasy, from the tyranny of the chattering ego-mind to the blesses emptiness of stillness. By its very nature, chill out music is a genre that tends to be created to be played in the background, the backdrop to more interesting activities, a mild musical diversion from other things. Chill out music is the kind of thing that you put quietly on in the background while you have a discussion with a complete stranger at 3am, or to soothe you to sleep, its not the kind of thing to get the blood rising and raise excitement levels.
THE AFTERLIFE LOUNGE is presented as a chill out album, a collection of collaborations between renowned DJ/producer Steve Miller and a host or other similarly like minded artists. As such, this is a record that does its job well enough, the music managing to create the right kind of soothing atmospheric moods, a relaxing and luxurious collection of downtempo ambient soul.
Despite a weak start with the cheesy Ibiza dance predictability of LET IT GO, all dull female vocals and bland dance beats, THE AFTERLIFE LOUNGE settles into something of an agreeable and relaxed groove. The instrumental likes of LOVEDUB and BREAKFAST AT BENIRRAS find Afterlife providing the perfect blend of downtempo beats and smooth musical moods, you can almost see that beautiful sunrise gently popping up over the ocean here. SOUK ROK grooves to a sublime middle eastern beat, the kind of thing The Orb where experimenting with over a decade ago to arguably better results perhaps, but nevertheless, an intoxicating and invigorating ride. THE ALKEMYST dips its toes into similar musical waters, while JELLO features Lux and heads more towards a breezy light jazz feel, all muted brass and slinky keyboard runs.
The sublime Chris Coco collaboration of HOME is by far the highpoint of this collection, an affecting and emotionally charged addition to proceedings that gives the record a heart and soul above the sometimes too slick smoothness found elsewhere. S'ESTANOL and BACALEO provide a slight change in pace towards the more frantic whilst the delicate sounding CHINA FLOWERS is a strange mixture of Harold Budd, The Orb and Prince Far I. Ending much where things started with a remix of the opening track LET IT GO by producers of the moment RKW, THE AFTERLIFE LOUNGE has the unfortunate pleasure of both beginning and ending on its weakest and most bland moments, a bit of a shame really, especially when so much of the rest of the record shines so much brighter than this.
At times sublime and magical, yet at times frankly predictable and dull, THE AFTERLIFE LOUNGE makes for pleasant listening, if a little bland in places.
Listened to as a background diversion, THE AFTERLIFE LOUNGE can make for an intoxicating and sometimes beautiful distraction, and as such this is a record that contains enough magic to transcend any other criticism.

Хочу предложить Вашему внииманию послушать музыку американского гитариста Andy Summers. Его музыка очень многослойна: тут перемешаны и арт-рок, и нью-эйдж, гитарный эмбиент и даже блюз. И всё это на одном диске. Субъективное впечатление от этого альбома очень хорошее, она не надоедает, несмотря на то, что этот диск у меня почти уже 7 лет. Единственное что: бросается в глаза некоторый американский акцент музыки. Впрочем, именно здесь он достаточно даже к месту.

Mystical Music Based on a Medieval Romance
With a classically trained vocalist and musicians hailing from Germany, along with music with themes based on the medieval story of "Tristan and Isolde" QNTAL is a pleasant surprise. Here you will find something that is deep, meaningful, and heartfelt, based on a medieval romance of Celtic/Germanic origin and influence; a mystical "soundscape" of sorts, or as the vocalist of QNTAL put it, a sort of "soundtrack" to a movie about "Tristan and Isolde," (if they ever made one.)
A number of years passed between the release of Qntal II and Qntal III: Tristan und Isolde. In that time Ernst Horn, of Deine Lakaien left Qntal and was replaced by Phillipp Groth. Like their two earlier albums, Qntal III is a perfect example of the ethereal or heavenly voices genre of music and will appeal to fans of bands like Dead Can Dance, Estampie, or Corvus Corax. Most of the songs have a nice blend of soft electronics, stringed instruments, and enchanting medieval vocals (many of which are sung in Latin).
Many of the tracks from this album have worked their way to goth radio broadcasts and club floors in Europe and North America. A few of the songs I'd recommend listening to include: "Name der Rose", "Maiden in the Mor" in which Groth's guitar compliments Syrah's lovely vocals, "Ecce Gratum" with its male and female vocals, "Entre moi et mon amin", and "Vedes Amigo". The album is fantastic ... and you will not go wrong with any of its tracks.
If you enjoyed this album, I'd also recommend checking out other European ethereal artists such as Love Is Colder Than Death, Helium Vola, Sophya, O Quam Tristis, and Collection D'Arnell Andrea
