Build Tools for Visual Studio

Build Tools for Visual Studio is a tool for generating native and managed MSBuild-based applications without installing Visual Studio. When installing this program, you have the option of installing the ++ C compiler and installing libraries like MFC, ATL, C ++ / CLI support and .NET and .net core. The tool was released in 2015 under the title Visual C ++ Tools, which has the advantage of compiling C ++ programs without installing additional overheads, including the heavyweight IDE of Visual Studio.

This tool was later expanded by adding optional components such as ATL, MFC, NET, the C ++ / CLI development environment, and many other Windows SDKs. With this tool, the latest version of the MSBuild installer is independent so that you can build .NET package packages.

For Visual Studio 2017, a new version of Build Tools comes with a new installer for access to MSBuild for both managed and unmanaged applications. This installer integrates both the Visual C ++ Build Tools and Microsoft Build Tools versions and builds a single version.

By default, all MSBuild prerequisites are installed for both managed and native applications, along with Visual Studio Build Tools, which include MSBuild command prompt - to build applications - and other optional options such as Visual C ++ Build Tools that have the authority It provides more for the Native ++ C developers. These options are much like those that you encountered the desktop version of ++ C during the installation of Visual Studio 2017. Note that the Build Tools for Visual Studio 2017 package also supports CMake that can be used to automate the process of installing programs.
